In Illinois, as throughout the United States, it is illegal to sexually harass or discriminate based on various protected classifications in the workplace.
Training Requirements
Training is required of all employees in Illinois on an annual basis. Additional requirements on training apply to restaurants and bars.
The City of Chicago has additional requirements related to the content covered in training. Additionally, supervisory training must be at least 2 hours and non-supervisors must be trained for at least one hour.
EEO Training, LLC recommends all employers in the United States, regardless of size and location, provide sexual harassment and discrimination training to all new hires (including contractors) and on a regular, periodic basis.
