Connecticut

In Connecticut, as throughout the United States, it is illegal to sexually harass or discriminate based on various protected classifications in the workplace.

Training Requirements

EEO Training, LLC recommends all employers in the United States, regardless of size and location, provide sexual harassment and discrimination training to all new hires (including contractors) and on a regular, periodic basis.

Connecticut specifically states employers with three (3) or more employees must provide all employees at least two hours of sexual harassment prevention training and education. Employees must provide training to an employee within six (6) months after their hiring date.

Employers with less than three (3) employees must provide training to all supervisory employees within six (6) months of assumption of supervisory duties or hiring for new supervisory employees.

The Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities encourages employers to update supervisors every three (3) years, on legal interpretations and related developments regarding sexual harassment.
